Beautiful antique rare Asiatic carnelian bead displaying spectacular patina and age pitting. Some surface fissures are present further indicating age. The coloring and banding of this bead is absolutely exquisite. Additionally, the most notable and telling feature of this bead is its very rare football shape which indicates that it is possibly ancient. These were actually obtained through trade with another collector who maintained they are Tibetan in origin however we were unable to personally verify the origin beyond being Asiatic in general.

Measurements: 20mm x 12mm

The hole is somewhat difficult to measure with accuracy as it varies on either side because of the antique drilling methods used to make the hole. Something under 1mm could fit through it with ease.
