Buddhist Mala Beads | Exotic Bocote Wood & Rustic Inlaid Bone

Handcrafted Buddhist mala beads featuring 'fair trade' gemstone inlaid rustic yak bone, our signature heirloom caliber exotic bocote wood beads, Bali style antiqued copper and a removable brass dharma wheel bum counter. The mala is strung on heavy duty 100lb test nylon cord, and finished with a red and goldenrod yellow colored soft cotton tassel. The turquoise and red coral embeded yak bone beads are artisan-made in Nepal.

The hang tag attached in the tassel area is stamped with our artisan's mark which displays "Lhasa" in Tibetan script, and the back has been hand-signed by the artist. Only a limited number of malas will be produced.

This collection is the result of LO's desire to learn the ancient art of traditional mala craftsmanship firsthand, years of practice and the tutelage of a master craftsman. Each piece starts its journey as a drawing in her sketchbook then is carefully sculpted from raw blocks of exotic wood, and the wood we use is hand selected from suppliers who abide by responsible forestry practices. Creating just one of these rare and unique malas takes days.
