Description
Beautiful antique Himalayan carnelian bead displaying lovely patina and minimal surface fissures from age. Also shown on the bead is interesting circular orange and white banding. The wear pattern around the hole is a smooth blunted conical shape which indicates this was well worn, possibly as hair adornment. These were actually obtained through trade with another collector who maintained they are Tibetan in origin however we are unable to personally verify that beyond originating from the Himalayan regions in general.
Measurements: 23mm x 11mm
he hole is somewhat difficult to measure with accuracy as it varies on either side because of the antique drilling methods used to make the hole. Something under 1mm could fit through it with ease.
